A good search to do is "animals that no longer exist" or of course look up the latest information on dinosaurs. I often draw concepts from these animals such as a concept I'm working on is a creature based loosely on feathered velociraptors, though I do also often base on the previous versions as well.

I don't have a picture here but a good search is for stuff like "uncommon mythical creatures" or "cryptid." One of my most common is to have characters that are just various types of dragon concepts.
I don't have pictures here, but a good thing to search up would be "character concept generator" or to think of common concepts such as "forest guardian" to put your own spin on. I in fact do have a series of "elemental guardian" characters.
Unfortunately I don't have any pictures here, but even plants can inspire creativity. For example an interesting plant is the "bleeding tooth fungus," don't search it up if you have fear of blood or holes though. Also coral can be rather interesting.
Sometimes the animal doesn't need to be anything special to inspire creativity, as even a rabbit, or deer can inspire an interesting character design. This picture is one I took of Pigeons on campus, which I have had character concepts using.
Sometimes even other animals can be inspiring, for example I used to have two rats then due to the cage being in my room I couldn't have rats anymore so I keep making plush rats, and rat-based creatures since they're the next best thing. This picture is of my rats Scabbers and Patches.
Sometimes when I see fabric I instantly start thinking of ways I can use it in my designs, a good way to find this is too look at fabric.com which has a large variety of fabrics. The picture here is a close-up of a plush I made with some fabric from a thrift store.
Oftentimes I find myself inspired by various animals I see in the world. In fact when I want to look for something interesting I look up phrases like "weird animals." The picture is of a strange bird I saw at Stonehenge, so I took multiple pictures of it.
My favorite animals are dogs and I often find myself making canine based creatures. They are an especially easy to create canine creatures due to the sheer number of different breeds so you can create very interesting creatures using features from various dog breeds. The picture here is of my family's dog.
I grew up watching Pokemon and I believe that it is one of the main reasons that I am so fascinated by creature designs. I took this picture of a Growlithe, a Pokemon I love for not only it's resemblance to a dog but also it's masterful color usage on Pokemon Go.
